AP Physics 2
From College Board: AP Physics 2 is an algebra-based, introductory college-level physics course. Students cultivate their understanding of physics through inquiry-based investigations as they explore these topics: fluids; thermodynamics; electrical force, field, and potential; electric circuits; magnetism and electromagnetic induction; geometric and physical optics; and quantum, atomic, and nuclear physics.
This will be the last course of study. After completion of AP1/Mech and AP E&M, students will have the opportunity to do an in-depth study of the content area. I suspect that with sound and waves deleted from AP1, it will be placed within this course during the summer of 2021. We are going to take advantage of the previous courses and add calculus to this course. Since all students are taking or have completed E&M, our review of electricity and magnetism will be in test preparation only. The following table describes the content we will cover in AP2. The addition of the * indicates areas where content based in calculus will be added.
This course is also lab based except in the area of E&M since all of that will be done during the E&M course.
